It is always nice to be recognized for the quality of our products. At the Purely Planted website, Nichole Dandrea-Russert wrote an article on December 10, 2018. This article highlights 9 companies that ethically source dark chocolate and give back. As she writes, 70% of the worlds chocolate is sourced from West Africa, where slavery (among children and adults) takes place, and working conditions are horrendous. Nichole recommends selecting “chocolate from South and Central America, Dominican Republic, Tanzania, or Madagascar.” Nichole then goes on to list her “personal top picks for ethically sourced, vegan dark chocolate that not only tastes delicious, but also give back.”
We are so delighted that Healing Butterfly was part of this list. We have two products that make use of cacao. Our Chocolate Matcha Green Tea Powder and our Chocolate Turmeric Golden Milk. Healing Butterfly is committed to sustainable farming practices and fair trade across the world. We are extremely proud to note that all of our raw organic cacao is sourced from an organic farm in Ecuador, and is direct trade.
